How is Frankfort Animal Hospital able to keep its prices so reasonable? The answer is simple; we look at every decision we make with a healthy dose of common sense. Let me give you several examples. Recently we wanted to fence in two acres to better exercise the dogs that are staying with us. We obtained several estimates for construction of a 6 foot tall, chain-link fence. It was estimated to cost $30,000 for the materials and labor. Instead, we were able to build a fence of equal quality ourselves for $2,000. That is a savings of $28,000 and an expense we do not have to pass on to you! Our dental machine is the best dental machine on the market. We can clean, polish and extract teeth with great ease and less discomfort to your pet. We were able to save $1,800 on this machine by using our own air compressor instead of the one that was sold with the dental machine. This allows us to charge less for our dentals while providing top quality oral care for your pets. A recent survey of 8 invoices from other area veterinary clinics had clients saving an average of $282.22 per visit at Frankfort Animal Hospital. On average a pet visits a vet 2.4 times per year. That would be an annual savings of $677.32 per pet. Why should you drive a little farther to visit Frankfort Animal Hospital? The first reason is great service and the second is great prices. Lets say that on average you save $100 per visit at Frankfort Animal Hospital. Lets also say that you have to drive an extra 15 minutes to visit us. The trip to Frankfort Animal Hospital would keep more money in your checking account as long as your salary is less than $200/hour after taxes. For most people reading this, it is worth your while to take a drive in the country. We are centrally located between Zionsville, Frankfort and Tipton. Just one stop sign and one stop light (almost always green) north of State Road 32. Six miles East of Frankfort. Lets talk vaccines! Are all vaccines the same? NO! Some vaccines are about the same as giving an injection of water. Frankfort Animal Hospital has researched every vaccine on the market and provides your pet with the best vaccines (and sometimes the most expensive). Last year we gave over $25,000 (our cost) in vaccines for FREE. With the common mark up on vaccines, that would be ~$150,000 which we do not charge. Why? We believe vaccines are important to your pets health, but not as important as a bi-annual exam, heartworm test, and fecal. The doctors at Frankfort Animal Hospital can often identify small abnormalities even before the owner, and help stop them before they become larger problems. We are always evaluating the vaccines we use. Currently we use Pfizer canine vaccines. The reason we chose this vaccine is that it has been shown to protect against 6 different strains of Leptospirosis. We have diagnosed dogs with this disease at Frankfort Animal Hospital. It can cause irreversible kidney damage, and can even affect people. Many questions arise about the difference between rabies vaccines that are labeled to be given every year verses those that can be given every 3 year. The only difference between these two types of rabies vaccines is the label. It is made the same way, just labeled differently. We give the 3 year rabies vaccine and recommend boostering it every year. Indiana state law recognizes the three-year rabies vaccine, but local ordinance supersedes the state law. This means that a county, township or city may require an annual vaccine. If a dog bites a person, it must be quarantined or have a rabies test conducted (on brain tissue). Why not be safe in all locations your dog may be staying or visiting? For our feline friends we use Merial Purvax vaccines. These are made without adjuvant, the portion of the vaccine that historically was thought to form vaccine sarcomas (cancer). These are more expensive than other vaccines, but our feline friends are worth it! This is only available in a one year rabies vaccine, so our cats must have an annual rabies vaccine by law. If you want to know more about us, stop in and introduce yourselves! We will be happy to show you around the hospital, kennels and grooming areas. We guarantee it will be worth your trip.Laser SurgeryLaser Surgery for any procedure can be conducted for an additional $50. For more information on laser surgery, click here.

Cremation ServicesSigmund Freud (1856-1939) once said, “The goal of all life is death.” While his view on life is fairly pessimistic, it is true that at some point all things pass away. Here at Frankfort Animal Hospital, we have an on-site cremation service to assist you when your pet passes away. We typically return ashes of a loved pet within 2-3 days. Ashes are returned in a plain white bag since each person has different plans for them. Urns can be purchased for the ashes or some people wish to spread the ashes of their deceased pet on a special location. Cost of private cremations is $98. |
